The SQE1 course Consulting services

LexVerity Academy is the SQE1 preparation course operated by LexVerity Legal Ltd. It exists because most SQE1 material is either expensive, uncited, or both: course fees that run into the thousands of pounds, or free question sets with no authority behind the answer.

Our approach starts from the opposite direction. Content is written from primary law first, supporting materials second, and every figure, deadline or multi-part test is either cited or marked as unverified. Questions are authored to one syllabus point and one examiner pattern each, so the bank grows in coverage rather than in duplicate near-misses. How that works in practice is set out below.

The course covers all 13 FLK1 and FLK2 subjects, priced to be accessible to an individual candidate rather than sold through a firm's training budget.

Mirza Unas Ali Baig

Consulting lead

Unas leads the non-reserved consulting side of LexVerity, including SQE2 exemption advice. He is a solicitor of England and Wales, admitted in 2025, and is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority in his individual capacity. He is also called to the Bar of England and Wales.

His work is cross-border: commercial, tax and regulatory matters across England and Wales, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Mirza Saad Ali Baig

Academy lead

Saad leads LexVerity Academy and the study side of the business. He holds two master’s degrees in law, a master’s in cybersecurity, and is an Advocate of the Sindh High Court.

Before the Academy he spent four years in consulting across Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, on contract drafting, compliance documentation, regulatory advisory and legal operations. That included corporate and tax compliance work at Legato 8 Tax Consultancy LLC in Dubai, covering value added tax returns, corporate governance agreements and entity formation for the United Arab Emirates Federal Tax Authority, alongside corporate due diligence and tax litigation.

How we are set up

LexVerity Legal Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. A practising solicitor advises clients through it, and the company itself is not a law firm and is not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. How the content is made

Sourced and checked directly, so none of it needs to be taken on trust.

Sources, in priority order

Where sources conflict, current primary law governs: legislation.gov.uk, the SRA Standards and Regulations, the SRA's SQE1 Assessment Specification, and current reported case law. Supporting material is used to structure and explain the law, not to override it. Where a conflict between that material and primary law is found, primary law wins and the resolution is logged.

Verification standard

A figure, deadline, threshold or multi-part test does not enter the course without either a primary-source citation, or an explicit note that it is unverified and needs a source. This applies to every date-sensitive detail: monetary thresholds, timelines, office-holders and the status of legislation.

Question-authoring standard

Every question is single best answer, with exactly five options. Each maps to one syllabus point and one examiner application pattern, and no two questions repeat the same combination. Distractors are drawn from genuine, common misconceptions rather than filler that is obviously wrong. Every correct answer carries the citation that makes it correct, an explanation, and a note on why each distractor fails.

Checking is separate from authoring

The person or process that writes a piece of content does not mark their own work as complete. Coverage and accuracy are checked separately, against the sources, before anything is treated as finished. Where something cannot be verified, that is stated directly rather than smoothed over.

How coverage is reported

We do not report coverage as a fixed percentage or as "complete" in the abstract. Coverage is reported as sections covered out of total sections, per subject, with an explicit list of anything still open. The course is a living body of work, updated as the law and the assessment specification change.
