How our content is prepared: professionally reviewed

Our study content is prepared using artificial intelligence to extract, organise and structure legal material, and is then reviewed by legally qualified professionals before it forms part of the service. It is checked against primary sources such as legislation and reported case law, and is written to reflect the law of England and Wales as it applies to the SQE1 assessment.

As with any study resource, the law changes over time and no revision material is a substitute for the primary sources themselves. For that reason, and because occasional errors can occur in any material, treat our content as a study aid and confirm the current position against primary sources before relying on a specific point for the assessment or for any real matter. We take reasonable care to keep content accurate and current, but we do not give a warranty that every point is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, in the same way that a textbook or revision course does not.

The application does not currently provide a live or interactive AI feature; AI is used only in preparing the study content described above, which is reviewed by qualified professionals before it forms part of the service. If we introduce a live AI feature in the future, we will make clear when you are interacting with it and when a response is AI-generated.

Not a high-risk education AI system

This is a self-directed revision aid that you choose to use for your own preparation. It is not a high-risk AI system under Annex III of the EU AI Act. It does not decide who is admitted to any course or institution, it does not evaluate learning outcomes within an educational or training institution, it does not set, mark, moderate or grade any official examination, it does not certify competence, and it does not monitor candidates for prohibited behaviour during a real assessment. Any score, progress figure or readiness indicator shown in the app is an informal study signal generated for your own use only, has no official standing, and is not used to make any decision about you.

Independent of the SRA

This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), Kaplan, or any other regulator, awarding body or assessment organisation. SQE1 and its assessment specification belong to the SRA and its appointed assessment organisation and always take precedence; they are referenced here only so you can study for that assessment.

The law changes

Content is intended to state the law of England and Wales as at the date shown. The law changes over time, and we make a best effort to keep content current and cited to primary sources, but a rule may change between our updates and the moment you read it, and errors may remain. Before relying on anything here for the real exam, or for any real matter, verify it against primary sources such as legislation.gov.uk, the SRA Standards and Regulations, and reported case law.

Our content is a study aid, and how you use it is your responsibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on study content, subject always to the limits set out in Terms & Subscription (Limitation of liability), which cannot and do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
